Since 2014, Warner has worked as a music director and composer on various productions as part of the Hilberry Company at Wayne State University. His original compositions for Love's Labour's Lost by William Shakespeare, as presented at the Hilberry Theatre in 2016, earned him his first nomination for Best Music Direction at the Encore Michigan Annual Wilde Awards for best in Michigan professional theater. Other music directing and composer credits include Peter Pan, adaptation by Janet Allard; One Man, Two Guvnors, by Richard Bean; James and the Giant Peach, adaptation by David Wood; and Next to Normal, by Brian Yorkey with music by Tom Kitt.
